FileSync Question...
-
A while back Chris Maunder asked about a file sync program and I recommended BeInSync earning all sorts of 5's for it. I had only been using it a short time and it hadn't had the chance to get *way* on my nerves. It's a flaming processor and resource hog OMG!!! So now I'll revisit the question. If I have to keep using BeInSync for WAN (Over the internet to any location.) sync that's fine it does a good job at that. Has anybody found a good sync solution that is:
- Like SyncToy in how it syncs.
- Fully automated and performs realtime sync.
- Might even handle complex email situations.
- But the big fatboy requirement is that it's able to sense when it's on the same LAN as it's other PC's. Therefore doing a sync at Gigabit or there abouts and doing it real time. While rubbing my feet would be a nice perc but not required.
My firm requirement is just that it does realtime sync, automated and knows when it's on a LAN. Or... An automated SyncToy.

Totally OT, but I love how almost every post of yours now includes crazy formatting.

Heh. More like he's been given a spiffy tool to easily add a bunch of HTML to his posts. ;)

Heh. I wonder why i ever had misgivings about having a rich post editor... Speaking of blasts from the past (which we weren't... but i found this thread while looking for that other one) - who all remembers what the post form was like before Jason Jystad's enhancements[^]? :)

Admit it, you had to search the suggestions board for the word masturbation to find that, didn't you? ;) I do, in fact, remember the post form from before the addition of the formatting toolbar. And before InLinkErAte was written. Fun stuff. :)

Figures, eh? And of course, i'm at work and paranoid, so i try every single other keyword i can think of first... :-O Still, it's true. I can't help but shudder when i think of what some (currently ALL CAPS) posts in the question forums would come out like if the kids had access to a rich editor.

Hey, converts are converts. Firefox isn't just a browser. It's a platform for a slieu of other applications. Extensions are practically applications in and of themselves. And I'm betting we're going to start seeing a bunch of XUL applications running inside the browser...which futher solidifies the idea that Firefox is a platform, not an application. And yes, I am a geek. I'm the kid who hacked someone else's userscript to give me a rich text editor for a programming forum. If that doesn't scream geek, I don't know what does. ;P

Yeah, just like that. Except maybe pink. At least most browsers don't do flashing anymore... :)
