The news circulating in South Asia these days is that Pakistan is planning to test-fire a new kind of intercontinental ballistic missile - "Tipu" in response to the current missile test by India. The name of this missile was first heard in the year 1999 when it was reported in a local news paper. It was said that the missiles of this series are targeted for the country's space program, however the missile was not been constructed by Pakistan space agency SUPARCO, but by defence company called Pakistan Atomic energy commission. US CIA has neither confirmed nor deny the presence of such missile The missile is described as being 12 meters long and having the range of 5000 km. The utility of a missile in this range class is obscure, since the 1500 km range Ghauri/Hatf-5 provides almost complete coverage of India, and politically interesting targets at more than twice this range are rather difficult to identify. The missile can carry nuclear or conventional warhead however the major aspect of this missile is the electromagnetic destruction of powerstations Imran Farooqui

In some of the UK papers yesterday, a defence analyst said that neither country have weapons of anything like that range - 1200 km was the range said. They only have short range missiles; not Intermediate range, long range or Intercontinental missiles. If either side launched, because they only have warheads with 10 KT (kiloton) or larger warheads (they don't have anything smaller), they would risk the fallout blowing back on themselves, so it would be pointless firing the things, unless they wanted full out nuclear war. Cheers, Peter Pearson

"Why is it always the western powers fault? Why does Africa and all the other 3rd world nations around the world blame the west?" No, of course it is not always the western powers' fault. But we have to blame someone, don't we? ;) The western powers used to blame the Soviet Union for everything, now Soviet Union is no longer there, they tried to shift all the blames to China. However, they are not very successful on that, so they drag tiny countries like North Korea and Cuba (typically the countries they don't give a damn about) into the blames.   My point is, not just people in the third world countries are brain-washed on this issue. Most of us are brain-washed one way or the other, some of us just don't know it or don't want to know it. ;)

I think you just defined the problem with programmers from that region. Technically they are, on average, probably more proficient than a typical western programmer. However, they concentrate on cetification and passing tests to achieve technical proficiency. As a result, their work is far less creative and shows less innovative flair and imagination than one would expect from a western programmer. The best programming teams I have ever worked with have consisted of one or two programmers of an India/Pakistani background and one or two of a western background. That way, you get the best of both worlds. "Thank you, thank you very much" Elvis.

I try damned hard to give every Londoner I meet and work with a good impression of us South Africans. I work hard, I don't complain that they owe me the job because I am African and I am grateful I am allowed to help the SA economy. But when your very own countries leaders say stupid stuff like ours do, then I just want to change my nationality, to aussie or something. regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass Cape Town, South Africa "The greatest thing you will ever learn is to love, and be loved in return" - Moulin Rouge Martin Marvinski wrote: Unfortunatly Deep Throat isn't my cup of tea Do you Sonork?
