Hey all, Just curious if anyone out there can recommend a book for network programming on the win32 platform. I didn't notice any "book review" section here on CodeProject, so if I HAVE missed it, sorry for the post..:-O thanks in advance and take it easy.. "Dude that nurse has no arms!"

Can't go wrong with Network Programming for Microsoft Windows by Jones and Ohlund from MSPress - see here - can't seem to find the link to the first edition which I have. Pretty much got everything in thier from Pipes to Sockets and the different protocols used such as TCP/IP and IPX used on Netware. Comes with loads of examples as well. Even though is mainly in C, it does have a bit on using the Winsock control in VB at the end somewhere. Hope this helps Nice, Giles

You don't need a book for taht. The MSDN is the Best Reference, you can find several good samples, (Some samples don't work, but are good samples)...:-D Best Regards... PD. There is a Useful Reference Books section hidden under The Scrapbook, but I didn't see Network Programming for Microsoft Windows listed there. Jon Sagara What about :bob:?

I have one - a good one. It's called "Network Programming for Microsoft Windows" - Microsoft Press You can find here almost everting, protocols overview TCP/IP, IPX, NetBIOS and of course Winsock, Winsock 2. It covers systems from WinCE to Win2000. Try it, it's really good.
