Articles acceptable at Code Project
-
I'm writing in this question because there's an article I want to write and I don't know if it's appropriate for code project. I currently am working with a product (4GL) that is proprietary, used only in business, no longer supported, and has absolutely no documentation out there on the net. Some of you should be able to relate to this feeling at work. You know other people are working with it and you've heard many times that it would cost too much to replace right now, just get it working. :) The little bit of this product I've managed to learn I'd like to put into an article and put onto code project. Has anyone else written articles of this nature here and is it considered acceptable to write about some old product that they don't sell or support anymore?

Why not? I like when sometimes I come across "obsolete" products' documentation. It's a sort of time-machine. Anyway this is my opinion. Wait for the replies from the other guys! ;P BTW I've never heard of 4GL before :-O ___________________________________ Tozzi is right: Gaia is getting rid of us. My Blog [ITA]

Informix is a circa 90s database and 4GL is their "fourth generational language" for it. A form generator - for building canned apps. I messed with it a little, but stuck with Oracle. Much nicer. Although, that's not saying much :) ...Steve

Sorry about that. I meant 4GL as in a 4th gen language. But, I guess it's more of a 5GL because its mostly a visual designer with some coding for advanced stuff. http://searchsmb.techtarget.com/sDefinition/0,,sid44_gci211502,00.html[^]
