Sounds like one of my former co-employed. (I'd say co-worker, but they didn't work much :) ) They would carry on hour-long conversations with the computer, and bang on the keyboard (poor keyboard :(( )

Talking to yourself is normal, when you ear yourself talking back to you, that when things start to look bad .... or in the current context of the thread, if you talk to your computer, and it answers back, and you didn't programmed it for it, that Baadd! Max.

I think this is normal. I talk to my programs...like "You piece of sh!t, how the hell did that happen?". Some of our computers do answer back. When we were testing some of our distributed COM stuff, we setup talking servers. So when you were doing somthing bad/weird etc, one of the other programmers would start it up remotely and you would get something like "Ooohhh god, I'm coming..." out of your speakers. :-D :-D :-O Roger Allen Sonork 100.10016 If I'm not breathing, I'm either dead or holding my breath. I have got to set it up.. We have had to put in an infinite-loop detector because I have tendency to code them into my web pages hehe. What's strange about that? I once interviewed an engineer who, when I returned to the interview with my boss to continue the discussion, was found standing in the corner facing the wall, alternately mumbling to the wall and laughing hysterically. Nothing unusual in that place, but it usually took a couple of years' working for us to set in. Needless to say, it was considered poor interview technique and we didn't return his subsequent calls. My monitor and I aren't speaking today...
