Sorry, these are probably not the "best" answers, but 1. "incentive" 2. I dont know if there is a noun word .. since it's an action ... the most common think I've heard is "sign-up" or "sign-on" ... especially, in the past tense. "We need less government, not more. The idea that we can become a better society by having a bigger rule book is ridiculous, regardless of who is trying to change the rules" - Doug Goulden

In Spanish the word is promoción which literally translates to promotion. But in English promotion is more like the act of promoting something, isn't it? Incentive, well, could be, but it's not a word much heard in marketing, is it?

I'm trying to find words for my business-layer objects for an app we're developing for a chain of gyms. Incentive sounds good to me, and I could probably use it (if no better words come out :)). What about offers like in special offers? And for the second one, I was thinking about Enrollment Plans (normal paying every month, prepaid, and so on). I also though about signing in, but doesn't sound good to me as a noun. Thanks! :) -- LuisR

So, promotion is valid to describe both a discount (50% or $5 off) and another kind of incentive (2x1 sale for example)? -- LuisR

I would call it a contract. That is, essentially, what you have between any business and client. Enrollment is a one-shot process, like an initialization whereas contract is more flexible and can cover a range of behaviors.

For example, in the car-wash business, you have sales that sometimes are cheaper because of a discount (50% or $5 off), but you have other types of ________ that are not necessarily direct money: for example a rain-check in which you get a free wash if you washed your car the day before and it rained, or some loyalty program in which for every 10 washes you get one free. These last two examples are not discounts but still are _________. 2. What do you do when you sign up to a gym? Subscribe? Enroll? 1. Incentive A promotion is usually a temporary advertising campaign. In your promotion, you would draw attention to those incentives. "Amenities" might also be useful, but not in the context of your example. Free coffee while you wait, television in the lobby, etc. would be amenities. 2. Plan or Package It looks like you already decided on "member plan". Sounds good. Package would also sound fine.

Incentive is the word I most often find associated with a bonus for doing something desirable. As for gym memberships, join is the word most often used in my experience. Enrollment plan sounds clumsy to me; I prefer Membership plan; enrollment sounds too much like a contract committment. I enroll in a school, but I joined a health club (aka gym). That was the concept of promotion I had, more what you do to promote something, that's promotion. But incentive sounds to me more like a reward you give someone for doing something or good productivity. Maybe the meaning of the word in Spanish is influencing that idea.
