    I was quite shocked when the national anthem was played , I could not hear the crowd singing . Is this normal in the USA ? At rugby matches it is quite normal to have 80 000 people singing along to the national anthems . And after we got stuffed by the Irish yesterday its about the only thing we Welsh do better than most other rugby playing countries.

        no, people don't usually sing/belt out words along with the national anthem at sports games in north america. don't know why, but that's how it goes.

          probably because they don't know the words :-D I can't remember the words to the English National Anthem. "God save our something Queen, erm, Long live our something Queen" "God Save the Queen, send her victorious, something and glorious" "God Save the Queen" Michael :-)

It's ok to just mouth the words, though.
