Task management software?

I am working on a project with other developers and we are tired of having to juggle lists of tasks between us, trying to keep everyone up to date on which tasks have been completed and which have not, etc. So, we are looking for a good free task tracker application (UI can be web or desktop-based) that can be viewed and updated by multiple users at once, over the web. (If it were not for those two requirements, Dan G.'s ToDoList would be the perfect thing - I've used that for many a project.) I'd like the tasks to be able to have subtasks, and fields such as comments/description, estimated time, date due, assigned to, priority, and completion status (hopefully in percentage form).
What multi-user task management apps do you find useful, and which ones should be avoided? Any suggestions and comments welcome.

I use netoffice, runs on apache/mysql/php. It's very clean and fast. Excellent project management tool. Has various stages of development, tasks, reporting, calendar, and much more. http://netoffice.sourceforge.net/modules/news/ I found it very easy to install and work with.

I looked at it earlier, but as far as I can tell, there is no support for subtasks. Is that correct?

Can you run a webserver easily? we have to get special permission to do so... but there are many webserver based task/bug tracking systems of various license agreements (it is amazing the variation in 'free' but it is true). if you go to Quality Assurance group section of sourceforge: http://sourceforge.net/softwaremap/trove_list.php?form_cat=565[^] and Project Management: http://sourceforge.net/softwaremap/trove_list.php?form_cat=607[^] and other sections of sourceforge.... I used to use an open source one that it has the subtasks in its to do list but I don't know if it's released. Its name is dotproject[^] and it has an online demo so maybe you should try it and decide by yourself.
