Interesting article on the double standard. The teacher should have gotten more than just "house arrest" in one of the counties.

She didn't get off. She was "convicted" in the other county. It's just the second county that dropped the charges. Personally, I don't have a problem in this particular case. It was certainly wrong of her to do what she did, and certainly against the law. But, regardless I don't think she's a pedophile or a sex "offender" because the guy was certainly up for it. It was definately consensual. And for me, that is key. I would have gladly done her when I was 14. ---sig---

Maybe because the majority of 14 year old guys would be very happy to sleep with a good looking 25 year old woman teacher? Whereas (this is my assumption) very few 14 year old girls would want to do something similar with a 25 year old male teacher. Regards, Nish

Only if her conviction in the other county is classified as felony sex offender, which I doubt since it was in house arrest. In that county it is done, in that state, maybe it is done. But the way the laws work, she can easy move to any other state and teach, though her picture might be recognized. A wig, died hair, or other work on appearance and most won't notice that. That is a faulty assumption. Many teenage girls have fantasies about good looking male teachers and some have sex with them. Fourteen year old girls have raging hormones, too.
