INS update! Naturalization interview
-
So ... “Howdy?” Today I had my naturalization interview. Arrived to the INS or USDHS office and waited for 45 minutes. My interview was at 11:05. An INS officer called me in and gave me the interview. She was really nice (never experience that in any INS office for the past 6 years) 10 minutes after I got 100% on my history, government and English and I was approved to become an American Citizen!!! Was so fast that my head was spinning!! And the most important part was the officer was really nice and pleasant to deal with. In another important note, I apologize if yesterday anybody believed that I was attacking in any shape or form the country instead of the INS. I do believe still the INS has to be improved to the standards of any other agency in the country. Thanks everybody that wish me, good luck, it paid off! Cheers Al
Awesome! Congrats and welcome to our home. Thank you for coming in the right way, through the front door, not the basement window. -George

No yet, need to wait as here in LA they do it in the Staples Center I believe. They'll send me the appointment. Taking away a passport is just a weird concept as I can go to Santa Monica to the Spanish embassy and get a new one with my birth certificate, that's how I renew it 2 years ago. I believe with the Federal law about US citizens they are making sure, you'll never use any other passport but the US one, so does not matter much. In any case, when I get my US one, I don't care about any other passport. I want from now on: Bud light, BBQs, a Ford truck with extended bed, a BIG screen TV (no less than 85") and a bumper sticker! Cheers Al

Oh, come on - we do have actual beer in this country, you know. If you're gonna drink bad beer, at least drink something like Pabst...

Maundy Thursday[^] When I was a kid in high school in India, we always got Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday off (along with a host of other religious holidays). I think India must have the largest number of religious holidays since they have to cater to a very large Hindu, Muslim and Christian population. It was great, 'cos the entire population ended up celebrating religious festivals whose significance wasn't always obvious to everyone! And we revelled in the fact that we didn't have to go to school and invariably ended up celebrating the occasion with people of different cultures. /ravi My new year's resolution: 2048 x 1536 Home | Music | Articles | Freeware | Trips ravib(at)ravib(dot)com

The Ultimate Grid - The #1 MFC grid out there!I think it's clear by now that there's not *one* Ravi. Think about the amount of postings + the amount of articles + the amount of code. He's obviously found a way to clone himself! (Thinking the movie Multiplicity[^]. Come to think of it Mr. 100+ articles, what version of Nish am I talking to now? Hmm... Every time we go camping we stock the cooler with a case of bud and a case of miller lite. On a hot day fishing or hiking, there are few things more refreshing. Miller lite goes good with golfing too. :P mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... beeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrr.....
