I am looking for a good software tool that could manage my personal finances. Something like Quicken. I would really appreciate it if you guys could give some recommendations. ########################## Taking pride in one's work is good as long as ego isn't a part of it. ##########################

I use MS Money, it works very well... I guess the big question is how complex of personal finances? are we talking personal investments? retirement planning? long term savings planning? or just balancing your statements and seeing where all your money went? There is a GNU accounting package for free, but it doesn't have anything early in that list. MS Money handles everything I listed above, though I don't use it for investments much, I do use it for planning and monitoring 401(k) investments, so I am familiar with the capabilities. Which Quicken vs MS Money tends to be a personal choice, I got my first copy for free as it was someone else's copy they never used. I stuck with it for the upgrades, but haven't had any reason why I should leave it. _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. I've used MS Money for years. I didn't intentionally choose it over Quicken... it came free with something else I bought. :-O "If the world should blow itself up, the last audible voice would be that of an expert saying it can't be done." - Peter Ustinov

I've used MS Money for business for a number of years and found it to be perfectly fine. In the UK you also need to get approval of your software if you use it for your accounts form the Inland Revenue (general taxes) and Customs & Excise (VAT) both of whom are happy to accept accounts being kept in MSMoney. home

I've been using money for 6 years. Upgraded to Quicken and realized it doesn't import Money 2000, so I uninstalled it and upgraded to Money 2006. Look into Ravi's TakeStock. "If only one person knows the truth, it is still the truth." - Mahatma Gandhi Web - Blog - RSS - Math

Pick one and see what you like - the market is dominated by Quicken and Money. I have old copies of both running around. Drop me an email and I'll send you one.:) Charlie Gilley Will program for food... Whoever said children were cheaper by the dozen... lied. My son's PDA is an M249 SAW.
