My mouse is dead. I've warn out the right mouse click (which is odd because I would think the left would go first). So I need a new mouse and keyboard (If your not sure how I need a new keyboard because the right click on my mouse doesn't work, don't worry about it). So because the developers mouse and keyboard (along with the computer and monitor) are to the developer as paint brushes to an artist or knives to a great chef, does anyone have any recomendations for a new set for me? 1) Must be wireless 2) Must be ergonomically correct. Any Ideas? E=mc2 -> BOOM

The last is something you really need to try yourself. Any decent computer boxmart will have a good selection of MS/logitec mice to try. In my case (large handed lefty) there weren't any wireless mice that I could use. All the symetric mice were too small, the logitech media mouse was almost big enough but the waspwaist bothered me after a few hours. Left handed versions of both companies #2 wireless mice have been coming soon for some months. X| For the moment I ended up with 5 button corded one, and am hoping the wireless ones I want aren't vaporware.

Why must the mouse be wireless? I personally hate wireless mouses. The mouse is heavier than its with-wire equivalent. Fix the wire of a wire mouse at the end of the table (0.5m in front of you) and you never have the wire-push-pull-at-end-of-table problem. I got the Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer[^] mouse and am very happy with it. It's the best mouse I've seen so far (anyway, I currently don't have its latest "version" on the linked page, I got its precedessor). For keyboard I'd recommend a standard one: Cherry Classic with Gold Crosspoint Contacts[^].

I went with the MS Trackball Explorer a couple of years back, and love it. I can use it all day with no pain in my hands or wrists. Of course, it's not wireless... but that would be pointless. ;)

Now taking suggestions for the next release of CPhog...

I have MS Wireless Intelli Mouse Explorer 2.0 and it's quite good, only clicking with the wheel is problematic. Pavel

MS has wireless mice that are the same size/shape as the IntelliMouse Explorer, if you like that form factor. As for a keyboard, I can't really make a recommendation because I don't use wireless gear. And the keyboard I would recommend (MS natural pro) isn't being made anymore anyway :((

That doesn't do anything about the problem of 20 billion wires coming out of the back of the pc. And it adds hte problem that when you move hardware around the ammount of slack you need changes and you have to redo all the ties. If you make them loose enough to have the slack needed to pull it out, you've got enough to snarl when it's pushed back.

Elastic bands. :) (I'm all about wireless when it really makes a difference, but adding extra hardware+batteries to save 3ft of cable isn't one of them)

I went with the MS Trackball Explorer a couple of years back, and love it. I can use it all day with no pain in my hands or wrists. Of course, it's not wireless... but that would be pointless. ;)

Now taking suggestions for the next release of CPhog...

Same here, it's only to bad they stopped making them. I could really use an extra for work and one of mine at home is starting to flake out.

I use a G7 at work and MX1000 at home, after the sticker shock, once you go laser you will never look back. :) though your wallet might.... of course there is always the Hover Mouse[^] :~ (at least weight is no longer a problem -- though I can see how cats would love to knock it off the pad) there is always virtual mouse keyboard drivers... virtual mouse joystick drivers.... a wacom tablet is definately wireless... to the mouse/pen, wired to the pad. as a side note... why do I think She[^] is trying to tempt me with an "apple"? _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau.
