hi. i just got a new headset. my old speakers were fine, but this headset isn't loud enough. i've turned the volume up to its maximum in windows and on the headset's volume control (hardware not software). does anyone know of a way to increase the volume more? thanks in advance.

Better sound hardware? If you're using a motherboard-integrated DAC, likely it's crap.

You could get a headphone amp, such as this one or this one or this one Phil Global suburbs

This is probably because the speakers are amplified, while the headset is not. Try upgrading the sound card drivers, or maybe just playing with the audio setup. Some sound cards / sound on MoBo setups have an "advanced" control (in volume control) which gives a 10 dB boost. My work PC has this control on the Mic input only, but I **think** I've seen a similar option on the audio output. I think it was on a some Gigabyte MoBos which used on-board VIA audio, but not sure.

Maybe you using out for amplifier instead of out for headphones. Best regards, Alexey.
