What are they paying these geniuses? :omg: Can't wait to see the results of the first bug in the angle-speed computation algorithm... (Angle: 10°, Speed: 150 MPH => augh)

The DARPA patent adds that a computer can automatically find the correct angle and the appropriate launch speed. It also claims that with this equipment, the total flight time to reach the top of 5-story building will be less than 2 seconds. For now, I'll stick to the stairs. I hope wieght is also taken into consideration during the calculation :~ Never send a human to do a machine's job Agent Smith

oh I could tell you some genius stories.... They paid near a million dollars for a pattern recognition algorithm that work only for squares... when I was asked to impliment the algorithm on aircraft I said it could not be done, they were furious, and because I was "new" they gave me a bad evaluation and demanded someone else be assigned. Someone caught on on the 3rd bad evaluation. _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. Talk about things of tomorrow and the mice in the ceiling laugh. Ahhh - that one's easy!!! Since gravity is a constant, it provides constant acceleration. The acceleration is also based on the mass of the object being accelerated. This means that with a few rather simple equations that get taught over here at about 15-16 yeas of age, you can work backwards....determine the speed at which you WANT to land (and the landing point is a function of the trajectory and time, so that's pretty easy too) without breaking your legs, plug your weight (and the weight of yer firefighting equipment / truncheon / flak jacket etc...) into the equations, et voila - the start speed is found. You can then go again with the weight and start speed to determine the force required to do what you want. Ultimately, this means that THEORETICALLY you should be able to land on the exact spot you wanted at the exact speed you wanted....which implies that the apogee of your parabola could be a couple of inches above the roof...which means that in effect, you only drop a few inches... Having said how easy it is to work all this stuff out, I STILL wouldn't let the US military try it on me - can we all spell "Friendly Fire"?....or does this just give that term a new meaning - firing "friendlies" at ppl lol? Reminds me of the song ... gravity, when you're feeling lost and you don't know why, it's gravity.
