I've been looking at finally catching up with the Jones' and registering one/more domains for personal and business use. I know a number of people who use, and seem happy enough with, GoDaddy and such. However, they don't seem to sell .ca domains (fair enough). When i look at Canadian reg companies i'm seeing anywhere from CA$30-50/yr whereas the US companies seem to be charging < US$10/yr for .com/.us/... names. Why is there such a large cost difference ? ...cmk Save the whales - collect the whole set

I really do not know, but would guess taxes. http://www.networksolutions.com/domain-name-registration/country-specific-domain.jsp[^] Glad I am not in Mexico. Ok, the .ca are US$15, but the .com and others are US$35+. Looks like the best sol'n is to buy from a registrar in the hosting country (with the US hosting .com). I had hoped to have all with one (easier to manage), but will now likely use GoDaddy (or the likes) for .com and DomainPeople (or the likes) for .ca. :sigh: ...cmk Save the whales - collect the whole set
