Spike has always been one of my comedy heroes. I don't usually get affected by the deaths of celebs but there was a tear in my eye when I read of his death. A true comic genesis has been lost. Michael :-(

I mean if Bruce Willis or even Catherine Zeta Jones died I would feel "that sucks" but nothing much more. They do not have the character, substance and genius of many older actors and artists. I remember feeling very sad when Dudley Moore died too, he was not quite Spike Milligan, but pretty close. They don't make them like they used to... regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass Cape Town, South Africa "The greatest thing you will ever learn is to love, and be loved in return" - Moulin Rouge Sonork ID: 100.9903 Stormfront

While I respect the man it must be said that meeting celebs is rather, well, ummm, not up there on my "big achievements" list. Especially if it is just an autograph and smile. If you have a whole day with the celeb and have a good meaningful conversation, then fine that is great and a good "achievement." I mean what do you actualy get out of a smile and autograph? You don't get to see the real person behind the celeb, they don't share any of their success with you, all in all you get a photograph with some ink on it and a memory of a smile. In the grand scheme of things meeting a celeb ranks up there with finding a new strawberry jam that does not taste of chemicals. I am definitley not dissing you David, just saying what I think of this whole "OMG I touched/saw/met/smiled-at/stole-the-underwear-of a celeb" thing. I also don't think you are that type either David, though I may be wrong... ? I would definitley have liked to have met and talked to Spike Miligan, no doubt about it. just my 2 cents, not trying to downgrade your ranking of that moment in your life at all David, this is just my opinion and maybe meeting a celeb really does rub off something on to you. regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass Cape Town, South Africa "The greatest thing you will ever learn is to love, and be loved in return" - Moulin Rouge Sonork ID: 100.9903 Stormfront

Could you appologise to me any more in a single message? ;) I'm sorry, Paul. Spike was a guest at a school asembly, and afterwards he came into our classroom and we all got to sit around in the reading circle (a corner of the rooms covered in cushions) whilst he tols us his favourite poems and we got to ask him questions. I wont say it was the most memorable thing that has ever happened to me, but it was a fun day for sure, and one I can remember well. ________________ David Wulff http://www.davidwulff.co.uk Sonork ID: 100.9977 Dave …

That ranks up there with trying to find all 12 aquorian (sp?) letters so that I could win a t-shirt :-D David Wulff wrote: Could you appologise to me any more in a single message? :-O ;P I just REALLY do not want to start anyone else up today.
