Yes - the military (specifically the air force) still uses it. I know precisely one MUMPS programmer, and he wishes he wasn't one. I was on a project last year that used MUMPS. Used it, loathed it - sorry! I think it's the worst programming language ever. I am quoted being (constructively) critical in the M-Technology and MUMPS Language FAQ, although the e-mail address quoted for me is now way out of date. In the early nineties I worked for the English Health Service in Bristol for a year, where almost all the systems were written in MUMPS (much of it old-style, which may have coloured my views somewhat). Imho, the arrogance of the sales teams led to our downfall. We were pushing a superior (VAX) architecture that sold itself to techies, while IBM was quietly handholding their large business clients with 24x7 onsite support.
