Have you tried creating the internet shortcut file which is simply a text file ending with .url?

Put the above statement in an html file and add Special folder->User's Desk top->Paste the Html file in that. The above code works only ifthe user does not change the Virtual directory name during the time of installation. Else you will have to cjange it manually in html file. Coool Boss asked me to develop in Java or better , so developed in .NET
