I thought I could post this on Monday. But I can't have a peaceful sleep without clearing certain things to you. Who said I treated my dad bad? I wonder why it's being misinterpreted. It s just a small story, If I may call it that way, I received in my mailbox and I thought it was worth posting. Why do you take it personally or for that matter impersonally? neither you nor I (or any buman being) would like to treat his/her father badly. Some take loved ones for granted and it's too late before they realise it. I know it sounded too cold towards the end, but in general I think it may touch a chord somewhere. Sorry if I had said something wrong. -------------------------------------------- "Who are you going to believe, me or your own eyes?"

I say screw'em. If they can't handle your sentimentality that's their loss, not your loss. I mean, what a bunch of pansies if they allow a bit of "sappery" get them all in an uproar. Don't let the cretins get you down.

I personally found it annoying. I get those same sappy emails forwarded to me from time to time, generally from friends who have just got their first internet account and are new to email and don't know any better. The same people that forward chain letters and miscellaneous other junk. Nothing makes me roll my eyes faster or hit the delete key sooner than this kind of putrid crap. I suspect most who read it felt the same way and it might reflect the tone of the replies you got. Personally I don't think my life fits into the mold of a greeting card but if you do then have at it, but don't subject me to it please.
I agree with every word. Only, I get chain mails from people who've been using it for years on a daily basis as well. Cheers, Vikram.

Sorry for reading the letter which is not addressed to me. ;) Hey carpet, this is a typical rookie's cry. People would soon accept you back. Dont worry.

So do I. That particular post grated on me more than most, as my parents refuse to even talk to me...even though I try to stay in touch (I write to them, send cards etc.) they never acknowledge me, let alone talk to me. It's not always the child that's the ungrateful one. :( Anna :rose: Currently working mostly on: Visual Lint  Anna's Place | Tears and Laughter "Be yourself - not what others think you should be" - Marcia Graesch "Anna's just a sexy-looking lesbian tart" - A friend, trying to wind me up. Jerry, I was about to quit CP. I was sad. Saw your message, changed my mind. At the same time, I m not angry with any of them. Because they have a point. I think I should change my name(carpet) to something else to avoid people stepping on me! What do you think? (I think you won't suggest a door_mat!) -------------------------------------------- "Who are you going to believe, me or your own eyes?"

Ah, makes more sense now. Most women that venture into these parts tend to kick the door in with boots on and let everyone know there is a lady present. Other wise you get treated like one of the guys. :) When posting forwarded emails take into consideration the target audience. It’s also a good thing to link to the original thread, not everyone reads all of the threads, and it helps bring everyone up to speed on the topic of the new thread. Well I'm now off to see the orginal thread, to see what the hubub was about..
I'd love to help, but unfortunatley I have prior commitments monitoring the length of my grass. :Andrew Bleakley:

I was treated worse than that. Be nice to me. I've had a bad day.

You wouldn't want to hang out with some of my friends; they can get very creative with insults. :-O

I know that feeling all to well…Everyday I lose just a little bit more of my sanity, sooner or later (more like sooner than later) I will be management material. :)

I think your intent may have been nice, but you were talking about a very touchy subject in the light of someone's grandpa dying. I think people were just over reactive. Don't let it get to you. Jeremy Falcon
