You've explained all the details of the bug that has been hunting you for hours and they just sits there, looking inappreciative... and then I remember -- The dogs never passed the programming course...

...an app that was built using standard mechanisms like ctrl-z to mean something different.... Typing a note in our change control system... unlock the record, start typing the note... "oh, that's not what I wanted, better undo" Nope. It undid the record change. Start over.

LOL! Another reason I like laptops. There's been a few cases where I've been coding away for a couple hours, only to discover the "you're battery is getting low" message popping up. Whoops! It's particularly amusing when that happens during a power outage, and that's the only way I realize the power went out. Marc

Better yet (better than my last post, not yers) When your learning for the first time that VisualStudio doesn't use Alt-F2 to bring up the bookmarks dialog, but your laptop does to short-circuit reboot.

That's why i use a UPS. And keep it at eye-level. And zip-tie the cords to solid supports, just in case. But i do hate it when, at 3:30 on a Friday, i find a huge show-stopper bug that really needs to be fixed 'fore Monday. Like just now...

you goto Google, searching for something and find everything but what you're looking for.

Last year, I dropped my TV remote onto one of my computer power strips...about 30 minutes later, I heard a beeping...which turned out to be the UPS feeding my computer and monitor...only then did I realize that the remote had hit the power switch and turned off the main power strip... Steve
