Is Facial Hair a Requirement?

At my work place where there are 13 developers there are only 2 people with a beard (one of them me) And 2 friends who are also developers have started to grow a little beard after a while. So I don't know, maybe the bearded developers are the real ones ;)
mmmm.. or maybe the stereotype has faded and is in decline..

that's the other thing: long hair. i remember that used to be trend amongst programmers too.. and then it became fashionable amongst designers.. or vice-versa- not quite sure. maybe the most hardcore engineers have long hair AND beards? :D
