So I'm back from my cruise. I had gastro before I left, and as soon as I got back, I got some sort of flu. And then I turn on my PC, and while I was away, two entire scan lines died on my 20.1 inch LCD screen. It's just over 30 days old ( although I was away for 10 ), so I'm not sure what sort of warranty it has, or if I'll get it replaced for free. :(

Hopefully, it will get replaced. I have replaced 3 different LCD screens so far because of different problems. I have still not found a perfect LCD screen.:(

Damn! It's a good thing you're on the other side of the planet! I don't want to get sick! :-D At least you work from home and don't have to call in sick. Take it easy man!

Yeah, one of the cool things about working from home is that if I feel up to working ( which I usually do ), I can, without anyone sending me home.

Bummer, dude. Hope there is warranty and all ends up well :)

I'd like to help but I don't feel like Googling it for you.

Yeah, actually it was really good, and I think we need not to wait 13 years to do it again ( that is, have a break with just the two of us ).

It was not cheap, so I'm certainly hoping so.

Of my broken monitor ? I do have some photos of various nondescript tropical locales, I may get around to putting them up somewhere at some point.

What is the brand of the lcd monitor? It will be useful for me when shopping for it in future.

Had a similar problem with my LCD television. It was two months out of warranty but because I bought it with a Royal Bank Visa 2 I got a double warranty coverage for which they are supporting the claim. You might want to check which credit card you bought it with and perhaps you may have it covered even if it turns out that you are outside of warranty. Cheers, David
