Is Media Player A virus?

Is Windows Media Player a virus? Every time I plug a new storage device into my computer (i.e. PDA, new USB memory, Camera) the Windows media player immediatly stores as many songs on it as it can. I know I can disable it, but it does it for every new device I hook up. But since I only hook up a new device every once in a while, I forget. I took a couple of test pictures with a camera, moved them to my PC, then took my camera to my brothers house and tried to take a picuture of some family. It says it can't save it because memory is full. I hooked it up to my brothers PC and there's 1 gig of songs on there. It did the same to a new USB drive I bought at the same time as the camera. From experience it is Windows doing this. Yuo have an autosync rule set up
Brad Australian Have you tried Rebooting it?

Where do you set up the "autosync" rule. I've looked for it and haven't found it. I figured out how to disable the new devices autosync as I plug them in but that's about it.

I took a look and can't find anything. My best guess would be to put the media in, right click and look for the sync properties. I checked control panel and vairous other obvious places

In short I'd vote for that but in truth I doubt it.

This page of any help? Looks like the Auto sync feature is part of Version 10 http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/10/devicesupport.aspx[^]
I'd love to help, but unfortunatley I have prior commitments monitoring the length of my grass. :Andrew Bleakley:
