Just got back from a 3-week vacation in China and have tons of photos and videos (a few gigs worth).  I wanted to post the photos and some descriptions out on a website so my friends and family can see them.  Does anybody have any clever ways of doing this?  My first approach has been to set up a DNN site on my home computer and use the Gallery module.  There are three problems with this approach: 1. My ISP blocks incoming port 80 so I have to use a non-standard port, making the address weird (not to mention inaccessible through some corporate firewalls), 2.  I have to expose IIS on my machine and leave it up all the time and 3. the Gallery module may be free, but it has tons of bugs, and it's actually unusable from my perspective. Has anybody had to post a lot of photos before?  How can I do this cheaply?  I've considered buying server space, but they don't give you much actual disk space unless you get a dedicated server and that's just too much.

I think you have the right idea. You should just create the site on a host. I use www.dotnetpark.com. They are pretty cheap and they have a good admin site. As far as the photo gallery module... There are tons of those available for DNN. Keep trying one till find one to your liking.

        Welcome back! Flickr[^] seems reasonable.

I second Flickr. It's only $25/year, and you don't have to worry about the headaches of hosting.

Hmm, it does look reasonable.  $25/year with a 2 gig monthly upload limit and unlimited storage.  I'll have to look into this more.  Thanks!

Dustin, I'm quite happy with Flickr[^]. It's a tad simplistic, but at $25/yr it fits the bill quite nicely. /ravi
