How come fewer files?

When I could not compile a database project, there was an error in compilation. -------- vbc : Command line error BC2017 : could not find library 'System.Configuration.d ll' vbc : Fatal error BC2000 : compiler initialization failed unexpectedly: The syst em cannot find the file specified. --------------------------- I have two versions and only one fo them has the dll and not the other. I have no clue why this is so. It looks like you are trying to use a beta version of the .NET framework. I know for sure that not all of the beta versions were feature complete, so they might be missing some files. Although this looks like the installation is broken, If I were you I'd do a clean install of the .NET framework on that machine and see if that does anything.

Thanks a lot for the response. I will get rid of the orphaned version and try. By weapons of mass destruction do you mean windows automatic update which ha caused havoc in recent days?

Nah, that's not what I mean. Was just wondering some time ago, whether there are weapons of mass construction. But noone can tell me if there are any ;)
