Well, Word will definately discard the formatting of old documents, I had some fun getting that back together for some stuff I was working on.
I guess I haven't used RTM yet (just started downloading) but it should open .doc files just as they appeared in 2003. Only if you resave them as .docx could it possibly loose anything.

I don't think this is too likely... surely when u open the old .docs then it would convert them into the current format if for nothing else but displaying. On the other hand this is Microsoft and maybe they plan to release stability in the next update.

Does anyone know if (when) there's going to be a new version of Visio for Enterprise Architects released? Is it going to be with the next release of VS? ChrisB

-Shog9 on...a Firefox bug. That's two major releases in two weeks that you've failed to announce within seconds of them going live. What's happened to the real David Stone? :suss:

I, for one, welcome our new shrew-sized overlords. You forget David, I don't pay attention to actual releases. I just follow all the alpha/beta/RC releases. Finished products mean nothing to me except that there will be another pre-release version out in a few months. ;)

Hey, I'm only 18, I'd rather spend my money on shooting or bits for my Land Rover.

The only use I've had for either in the last 6 months has been to keep track of the time I've spent working for the company employing me (working from home), will write a program to do it when I get the chance.

That was my impression as well, I mean the menus are already more or less context-sensitive so it can't be that much work.
