I know Nish was looking for this earlier. The steps are a bit of an eye opener. I never knew that goo existed in windows :D Who knew there was a user friendly way of hacking the registry (that's what it does right)? Hide IE7 Search Box[^]

Whatever happened to the old "Check to remove [Insert Object Name]". I guess MS really want people using Google.

And for those of us still using XP Home simply create the following DWORD in the registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Internet Explorer/InfoDelivery/Restrictions/NoSearchBox and set it's value to 1.

IE7 blows out whenever I start typing in that box. Rather than trying to track it down, I can now make my problem go away.
