Hi all ! For some time now I'm thinking on buying a Laptop, and came across something that seems to be good value for price. It's an ASUS Z5310JA (Core Duo, 2GB DDR2 Ram, 120GB Hdd, ATI Radeon X1600 mobility). The only thing I found out by Googling it, is, that the Z series is produced for big electronic markets. And all the sites were in German, so it might be that it is only sold in Europe (at least in the german speaking part). I would be very happy if anyone who owns/or has experiences with this laptop, would share what he/she thinks of it ! Marius

I've never had one, but it sounds like a good setup!

An Asus was my first choice in laptop - until I found I couldn't actually find one. They seem excellent on paper and would be curious as to your experience should you buy one.

        cheers, Chris Maunder

We use them at work, they are indeed quite good. I would advice a setup like this if you are going to do serious development or plan on running windows vista :D

Hi Actually I bought it today ! :-) :-) Up to now I'm very happy with it, but I didn't do enough yet to talk about real experience. (Just installed Zone Alarm and the VS C# and C++ Express editions ...and now I'm on CP with it.) It's rather silent, and also doesn't produce much heat. I'm lucky I didn't buy it yesterday, because from yesterday to today the price dropped by 50 Euro. Hehe :-) (That's a little bit over 50 USD) It's my first Laptop. You know how I feel now: Like a little boy who's got a new toy ! :-) In some time I'll post here about my experiences with it ! Marius

I was thinking we need a hardware review section. Would you be interested in writing a review if I set up such a section?

              cheers, Chris Maunder

A Hardware Review section would be nice.
