Hi, I am curious on how to make your software known (assume you work for your own doing what you think is interesting). So here I am with my... don't know, YouTube or Ebay copy for example, and I'd like the world to know it. What would you do besides adding it to all the finders you know (Google, yahoo, etc). Any ideas? PD: Don't think I actually have a soft done, don't have the time to code for my own, it's just curiosity ;P

Why are you sceptic? Even if I had some soft, I don't, what difference would it make to you? ...

Though I don't have any practical experience on this matter, I have read the book by Bob Walsh on MicroISV's[^] and it is filled with practical information on how to make software publicly known. He talks about variety of different ways.

Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it. -Brian Kernighan

Interesting, and for 20 bucks I think I could buy it. Do you recommend me this book for this matter? I read the description and it seems to cover exactly what I need wight now. Thanks!

I certainly do. There is lot of interesting information in the book, which may be useful even if you are no planning to set up a MicroISV.

If you're looking for a free solution, I recommend posting it at Tucows, SoftPedia, NoNags (if it meets their posting criteria) and CNet (upload.com). I've had good success with my freeware by posting it at these sites.     Example: SoftPedia[^] You should also consider setting up a website (or at least a page) for your products. But most importantly, make sure your software is up to snuff (polished, professional, robust, etc.) before sharing it with the world. Don't be tempted to "get it out there" before it's ready for prime time. Hope this helps! /ravi
