Hey guys, I've modified my floppy drive camera panner[[^](http://floppy drive camera panner)]. Now, it captures images from the camera and scans those images for a bright pixel (usually a laser dot). Then, it determines its position and predicts the number of stepper motor movements which would be required to turn the camera towards it..After doing this, it turns the camera! Check out some videos here: http://ashishrd.blogspot.com/2006/12/laser-guided-camera-panner_12.html[^] Hope you find it interesting, Ashish :)

 Now I'm going to have to finish rebuilding my Land Rover so that I can put one of those (but with a floodlight) onto the roof so I can go hunting rabbits at night and whereever the rifle (with powerful laser :->) points so will the light.

I have no idea what I just said. But my intentions were sincere.

That would be of limited use in a sand storm...;)

Don't get many ducks on our farm, waiting for a hard frost though to bring in the woodcock.

With a heat-sensitive camera you could have an auto-targetting rifle and forget the floodlight.

No thanks, I'd rather not have the dog shot when she goes to retrieve the rabbit :~

I'm sure that could be avoided with some decent shape and size analysis!
