I like to add these comments - First, FSF people may start to chase after you over this concept. But it is kind of creative idea. - The color matching is also very bad. Also the colors are too blackish, and not good for wallpaper. - The items of the picture are not creative placed and also not logical. - The rim around the world (I guess) is disturbed by the inconsistency of it and also it does not make any sense. - The question mark after the word “Vista” is too small and is not proportionately matching. - "Designed By" part is too big and disturbing the whole image. So thanks for this but no thanks

Look, I see that you don't use any plugins, so you get what you get with natural 3dsmax shadows and GI... The texture of the world is poor for a black environment, you should play with the indirect illumination of the sun with a more complex texture. The reflect on the ring is obviously not realistic and need some anti aliasing. Your shadows are quite poor too. You just started with 3dsmax right? :P I recommend you try VRay, or see some VRay results like: http://www.infinity.no/images/VRay\_img\_06.JPG, there you can have an example of gi, indirect illumination and caustics. It would be really hard to get this image with the standard 3ds render engine. Hope it helps.

Nice picture, the vray renderer does indeed deliver stunning results. It's a long time since I used 3DS max and I'm pretty sure I can't do any better :D

Actually to get a similar result you just have tu put the objects, apply a glassy texture, activate GI, set up the indirect illumination and caustics. All done.
