It takes 15 minutes to install... well, I'm okay with that. :) It takes 15 GB diskspace... sure no problem, I have 30 GB free. :| My beloved PC (P4 2.6 GHz, 1 GB RAM, nVidia GeForce FX 5200 128MB) only can run in low res and it still bit laggy. :(( Well, after spending 1 hour exploring FSX setting, finally I gave up and uninstall FSX. I came out with one conclusion.. My PC wasn't fast enough to run this gigantic games. Anyone tried FSX before ? What is your PC configuration ?

I heard that it won't run decently on DX9, no matter what hardware you have.

I have Microsoft Flight Simulator from 1995 and it runs on a Pentium 100 with 96mb of ram running in DOS or Win9x on a 3gb hard-drive with a 2mb 400 dollar graphics card(state of the art in its time). It runs real nice on it. Considering how old that game is it still is fun to play.

A co-worker of mine ran into the same problem too.

I installed it on my girlfriend's son's computer to keep his excitement on flight. He is running at low res with a few lags once in a while, but for him it is good. He is learning so fast going through the flight missions that I am going to get me a copy. My specs are a little better than yours so hopefully I will do better.

Running on a C2D E6600 2GB RAM (800Mhz), 500GB SATA 300, MB ABit9Pro To get a good frame rate I needed to run it with defaults visualization, when I go up with the settings my machine can't take it and the frame rate slow down a lot Anyway on normal resolution it looks crappy, so I uninstalled :(

Its a little choppy at times. Pentium D 3.2Ghz (dual core) 2 Ghz OZC Gold 84000? 7600 GT 2x250GB 7200RPM 250 GB HDD Freedom 2.4 Joystick and I run the game at native for my 19" with full realism and maximum rendering which is 1280x1024. A tip to maximize enjoyment is to enable 2D cockpit with transparency so you can actually see the runway in the cockpit view. Personally, I really enjoy the sim. Of course I am also planning to be a pilot as well so I am using it to save some hours in the sky.

Last night was the first time I really used my new computer for development. I had dreamweaver MX open, Photoshop CS2, Firefox (20 tabs), IE (1 Window), Visual Studio open, and Thunderbird. And it never thrashed or lagged. Everything was instant. I wish my work machine was this good.
