So Microsoft has finally gotten around to creating a "Native WiFi API" that runs on WinXP SP2 with a patch, and on Vista. There's some documentation about it here: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa816369.aspx">http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa816369.aspx There's also supposed to be some sample code that gets installed at: C:\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0\Samples\NetDs\Wlan\AutoConfig However, the article does not tell you what SDK you need to install for the WinXP stuff. I tried the Vista / .NET 3.0 SDK here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=C2B1E300-F358-4523-B479-F53D234CDCCF&displaylang=en but it crashes :( when I try to install it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I got it to work finally. After getting to the point where it would just hang forever, I killed the process, then restarted it and did a repair. Then it installed correctly. What a pain.
