I was just wondering what sort of timesheet tracking you use? Do you use the A4HB method or something more advanced? OK, this post is a blatant plug to get some visitors to my latest project - www.timesuite.com.au [site here] and [free demo here], which is aimed mainly at small and medium businesses. If I released a version specifically for single users, would it be of interest to freelancers / sole traders?

Some awful web-based thing, hopefully written in-house. The first thing i did was write a Greasemonkey script to make it usable. The second thing i did was forget to enter hours. Ever.

This looks like a great entry into the Vista Gadget contest. You're most of the way there. Just need to tweak it a bit and pretty it up. Cheers, David

If you want direct advertising for your product, you should pay CP for advertising space, not posting ads in the forums. Links in your signature are fine as along as it is not spam, but posting ads is not too cool of idea!

Thanks. If only there were more than 24 hours in a day. Whoever came up with that flawed concept obviously hadn't worked as a developer. :-D /ravi

I use the A2HB system at work. 'A' size paper. 2HB lead. It works great, requires little training, and hasn't caused a BSOD in years.

LOL! I Never thought of it that way... But maybe it's us developers that are really at fault? "Some moron programmer at the time they developed the planet used three bytes (each bit representing 8 hours) to record the passing of time... If only he had been bright enough to use an int or a long. Then we'd have plenty of time to get all this stuff done and still get in a vacation!" :-) Cheers, David

Yes, a 32-hour day would have been ideal!  Although RAM was probably incredibly expensive in those days. ;P /ravi

I'm reporting this as abuse because my company makes a service management application that tracks time and I've resisted the urge to shamelessly promote it for at least 7 years now and frankly you've pissed me off.:suss:

One of the first things I did on my current job (two years ago), before I had "real" work to do and I wanted to become more familiar with SQL Server, I wrote myself a timeclock system. It took about a week, and then I abandoned it because I don't need to track my time.

I would like you to take a look at our .NET-based timesheet exchange at www.timeXchange.net. We are in "public beta" right now and comments, good or bad, are welcomed. Joe Piekarz timeXchange.net
