Storing Photos
-
In your opinion what is the best way to store photos in their original resolution? I have checked XDrive and they only allow 5GB space. I could get myself about 10 gmails and make it a 25GB storage but that would't be ethical :) Right now I have an a/c with Smugmug.com and they are doing a fantastic job but I am paying $60/yr. Thanks!

Go to a shared host with high promises and low prices. I can give you a contact for one, if you are interested (no it is not mine, I am still planning how best to set it up).

If you don't mind only storing a high-res JPEG of your photo then Flickr is best as they have unlimite storage now for Pro accounts. If however you want to store your original files like RAW or PSDs then there is nothing ideal out there yet. I am tinkering with Amazon S3 and a bit of Amazon EC2 to view the contents of S3. S3 gives you unlimited storage though per gig it is more expensive than other hosts.

I don't see it happening, at least not until it becomes pointless.

1&1 The hosting plans have a photo gallery feature. The starter plan is US$2.99/mo but there is currently a promotion running for US$1.50/mo for the first 6 months. Domain registration costs US$5.99/yr after the first free year.
