Whats the fun in doing this?

Maybe we need a message stating that you are not allowed to post other people's work.
Brad Australian - Christian Graus on "Best books for VBscript" A big thick one, so you can whack yourself on the head with it.
There's already a mechanism in place for reporting articles, and I used it. It should be gone sometime today.

Best of all is that he is a member for 4 year, 0 messages and only that one article. :omg: Is that possible??
He who laughs last is a bit on the slow side
Even more funny is that the only thing he didn't copy, i.e. the title, he got wrong: "How to use Bare Codes......" should probably have been: "How to use Bar Codes......"
"When you have made evil the means of survival, do not expect men to remain good. Do not expect them to stay moral and lose their lives for the purpose of becoming the fodder of the immoral. Do not expect them to produce, when production is punished and looting rewarded. Do not ask, `Who is destroying the world?' You are."

and the fun part is, the first vote to it was a 5 !

Err... Yes it is possible. I have been on here for quite a while now, and so far I haven't post any articles. Mainly due the fact I don't think I have written anything 'good enough' to for CP to carry.

"...the staggering layers of obscenity in your statement make it a work of art on so many levels." - Jason Jystad, 10/26/2001The article will be removed, but how about the user? Shouldn't posting plagiarized material be grounds for user removal? It's surprising to me that the poster has gold status, too.

He has gold status simply due to the age of his account. I've already expressed my opinion that people should have to earn every level upgrade by some factor other than how long they've been a member. Maybe Chris will implement such a change some day. I agree though, he should actually have his account deleted, or maybe Chris should just turn his name in to Microsoft and let their lawyers have at him...

Oddly enough, the guy didn't try to steal credit - he's listed the original author's name and website at the start of the article. Christian Forsberg businessanyplace.net It's almost as if he was playing with copy/paste and the article submission wizard.

Currently working on C++/CLI in Action for Manning Publications. (*Sample chapter available online*)Only an idiot would do something like this and think it was okay - even if he DID give credit to the original author.

Sounds like a good idea...

I think that was covered by Microsoft's Copyright notice at the bottom of the page.

Well spotted. I think several sites out there seem to think this kind of behaviour is OK. It drives me mad when i go to google for Error l337 only to find that the first 2 pages of results on google are direct copies of the same article. If I find something cool on the web I post a link so that people can go to the original article. I might post small cut & paste sections if they are directly relevant to the conversation in hand.
