Interesting read: Vista rendering
-
In all the talk about Vista and GID/DirectX/OpenGL these are the most concise write-ups i've seen: http://www.opengl.org/pipeline/article/vol003_7/[^] http://blogs.msdn.com/greg_schechter/archive/2006/05/02/588934.aspx[^] Although there are some nice things (i guess), i've got to say it feels like a bit of a hack in places. I've also got to believe it's going to break a lot of graphics based apps. I think i've decided that now, for what i do, Vista is more of headache than it's worth. On my next system reconfig (next month ?) i'll likely be setting up to triple boot Win 2003 R2 AdvSrv x64 (for 64bit dev), x86 (to support legacy 32/16 hardware/apps), and Vist Ult x64 (going to have to support it at some point may as well start porting/updating code now).
