well....vista's just been released, and Win98 has..what....7-8 years of history behind it....really not fair to compare right away, is it? =============================================================================

If a new car comes out tomorrow, would you decide it was rubbish because more people drive a Datsun 180B ?

win 98 is better, send me your copy of Vista. (Note: This is a joke, I would sooner spit-roast my eyes then use Vista)

I can tell you one thing performance is definitely not the driving force for most the code changes from win98 to vista. The simple fact is people do not buy an os for how fast it performs but want cool new features and better security.

Well, from the stats on my website on the Window's platform visitors for this week:

                                Browser Visitors %
                                XP 1,240 81.94%
                                Vista 119 9.6%
                                2000 57 4.6%
                                Server 2003 32 2.58%
                                98 14 1.13%
                                NT 2 .16%

I guess people with 98 just do not use the internet much, which is wise ;) It is scary there is actually people still using NT :)

Try running Windows 98. It will drive you nuts in short order. On the other hand, I do still marvel at what a lean mean system it was.
