Good day ... so far
-
Garmin has released x64 USB drivers for my eTrex Vista Cx GPS. Installation didn't crash my machine, and MapSource was able to find the device - i love it when things work as they should, it's so rare these days. IOGear's newest x64 drivers for their GBU221-321 USB Bluetooth dongle work (so far) for my old GBU211 dongle. Installation was a bit dodgy in places but everything seems fine. Now if only HP would release x64 drivers for my ScanJet 6300C, i'd have no (hardware) need for a 32-bit OS. Too bad it seems this isn't ever going to happen. Unfortunately the universe prefers balance ... tomorrow i have to show up for Jury Duty selection.

If you want to try and get out, when interviewed play up the logical thinking/engineering part of your job. Unless both sides somehow thing they've got a strong factual case one will be planning to baffle with BS. They'll want humanities majors as being more easily duped by such tactics. If you're in an industry that has a reputation of being strongly associated with either the right or left stress that as well. To be selected you have to look good to the prosecution and the defense. Either can decide to bump you, and unlike saying "I think all defendants are guilty, or the cops never would've arrested them, and should be hanged at high noon over the courthouse steps" you don't risk contempt charges.

doesn't always work. Logic is believed easily fooled with reason. Any lawyer with an ego (read: all of them) believe they can out-reason anyone else. However, playing up the right or left works better. several lawyers hate me now. :-D which is good too, although you have to be in the system for a time, then they want you out.
