An application that let me move my cursor from PC to PC regardless of operating system. I have 3 PCs on one of my desks right now trying to fix them all and i keep grabbing the wrong mouse or thinking that i have 3 monitors on the same machine. It would be awesome to be able to give focus to a particular desktop just by moving my cursor in its direction.

Another program that does the job: Multiplicity[^] from Stardock[^] There are supposed to be benefits over synergy, but I'm not qualified to comment. I like the idea of the non-active monitors dimming a bit. It would either be really cool - or a total pain. Iain.

That software exists. You have three completely independant PCs and move the cursor over the edge of the screen in order to switch to the next one. Once set up correctly, it is completely awesome. It is called Synergy[^]

Such a pity that doesn't work on Mac OS X. I love the idea, more useful to me than Synergy below.

Check out pvponline.com. The cartoonist there mentioned such a max tool that spans from iMac to macBook.

He was a snowflake, like other "unique" snowflakes, falling down, getting stepped on, and pushed aside to disappear.

Thanks Richard. What I need now is Maxvista and Teleport to talk to each other as I have a Windows XP laptop and a Macbook Pro laptop :-D

I have some sheets of paper with data pinned at the wall behind my monitor. And when I want to point out something on this sheets to someone, I always end up trying to move the mouse cursor out of the monitor to the wall ...

I hear you! Even worse: When I take screenshots of possible error messages for my docs, or receive error messages from users as screenshots, I always end up trying to click the message away after I am done with it. Always!

Depends what you're doing. At higher resolutions VNC can take a significant percentage of the serving machines CPU time. I imagine a software KM switch would have much lower overhead if you're doing anything computationally intensive.

                          > "a mouse that is better at my job then i am" You realise of course that mice can't program or do any sort of computer work at all?

Yet another spam post on yet another forum! I am the lazy one, who sleeps as it suits him, codes what he wishes, and has many years to look forward to. I love being a student.
