Having bred in the past is not a disqualifier if the person was still capable of doing so again at the time of their act of stupidity.

Maybe not according to the "rules," but if the benefit to society is that the person won't pass the "stupid" genes on to posterity, then it would make a difference.

Yup, just because it is new 'cutting edge' technology, does not necessarily make it any good, as with all 'new technology' wait a few years until the early adopters have paid the high prices and have found the bugs. If it is still around in a few years, then buy it.
