    Being a 30 year old, I'm extremely embarrased to ask this, but if Easter celebrates the passing of Jesus, why is it a different weekend every year? Apparently Easter weekend in 2008 will be in March :confused:

      Because it actually syncs to the Jewish Passover, which relates to phases of the moon.

          Actually, Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus. As for the history of the date, see here.[^]

            Not quite. They both use the same phases of moon rule, but due to differences in how the Gregorian and Hebrew calenders work while the two holidays are normally in sync occasionally there's a month offset.

                  I'm fairly certain that Easter started out Pagan and was hijacked at a later time.:-D
