Recently I had to search and replace carriage return with space in word, I search the net and found ^p could be used as Carriage return Search and Replace input box. so just wanted to share it with you all, though could be basic but though it would help some one in search of same thing !!!

Why didn't you just click the Special button on the Find and Replace dialog?

Really with what name ? Also am assuming if it is there it will still use ^P as codes for the carriage return, so then why do I still need to go and click on special. I would rather put it seach and do the required... I appericate you bring special tab to my notice !!!

Name of what? All three versions of Word that I have access to have the same Find and Replace dialog.

Of course. I never implied the characters were any different.

Your missing the point. You had to do a search on the Internet when what you sought was a mere mouse-click (or two) away. I was just curious why you went out of your way to do something so trivial.

"Name of what? All three version of Word that I have access to have the same Find and Replace dialog?" What is mentioned for carriage return(name) !!!! It is very obvious that each version will have same name for search and find :-) "Your missing the point. If you see most of the people may not know about the usage of special, if you go back to my post I have alredy mentioned it that this could be basic for experts !! but for me I like it searching over the net to find out some thing which could be very trival or mere some clicks away and it thats it :-).

I think what he means is that he didn't know what a paragraph mark was. Surprising considering he's a software dev - but that's why he had to use google :-)
