Vanilla Coke?

Is this available yet? I'm trying to imagine what it'll taste like, but I haven't managed to. Maybe it'll taste like liquid biscuits. It should be available within the month, if my friend who works for Coke is correct :) I've had some (again, through the friend), and lemme tell you that the canned vanilla coke is to fountain vanilla coke what canned cherry coke is to fountain cherry coke - a reasonable immitation, but nowhere near as good as the real thing. -- Russell Morris "WOW! We've been making vanilla cokes for about 10 years now with just vanilla extract. When I used to drink soda that's the only way I'd drink it. Seems Coke caught on to this (after 10 years...) finally. ---- xian

Apparently trendy people, in big cities already put Vanilla syrup (and other flavours) into Coke. Me being in the middle of nowhere, at the back end of beyond, that hasn't reached me here. Actually I'd like to try it, I think it might be kinda nice, but then I like anything that's sweet :-D. ali p

Not really trendy. Vanilla coke and other additives to sodas has their roots in the old drug store soda fountains in the early 20th century. So when you get right down to it, vanilla coke is just a repeat product. :) Tim Smith I know what you're thinking punk, you're thinking did he spell check this document? Well, to tell you the truth I kinda forgot myself in all this excitement. Go ahead and make some yourself - I guarantee you it will taste better than anything that comes out of a can. For some Vanilla Coke, just take a little Vanilla Extract and put it in a Coke poured over ice. For Cherry Coke, buy a can of maraschino cherries (the bright red ones in syrup) and pour some of the syrup and a couple of the cherries in a Coke poured over ice. Both are wonderfully delicious. It depends how you do it. I've seen people pour a glass three quarters full of cheap vodka, then top it off with coke, and then have question me when I start flinching with pain as they try and maintain a clear face while they endure the torture. Tom, You live in Atlanta, right? Have you been to the Coke museum there? My wife went there many years ago and she said that they have hundreds of soda flavors that they test and market around the world. I'm pretty sure that a vanilla flavor of coke has probably been around since they first started making coke. -John
