I have a quick question. I see many web hosts are offering shopping carts etc that do commerce with Visa/Mastercard. I want to put a pipe into my house and do commerce on my own machine. Anyone know how you make this work with Visa ? Are there huge fees ? Has anyone ever done it ? Do they have web srvcs ? Any help would be appreciated ! Thanks in advance.

Well I had one such project before, While considering your option, it was declared that interacting with VISA thru your machine directly has heavy costs. I dont know much details about it. So we went towards other websites that offered shopcarts and some directly offered webservices.....Paypal is the only name that i remember now....it gives all options...directly thru webservices or use their shop carts....enough options to satisfy you i think...the best will only cost much work to be done..

You need a merchant account with a service provider. There are lots of them. Your bank may even offer one. Cheers, Drew.

Dato, Try looking into LinkPoint, its a pretty good CC Processing API Ive used several times.
