Hi, I setup two NICs on a machine. After the setup i tested both the cards and they were working fine. I attempted to swap the properties of the connections and restarted the computer. Now, the machine is not recognizing any of the Network connection. Also, the 'Network Connections' is not opening. What might be the problem with the system? Any way to restore back to old configuration? Will be grateful if anyone can help me in this issue.

    Thanks in advance, Murali

Did you make a backup before you did this? If you are changing anything that is important to the configuration of windows then you would always want to make a backup of the configuration of windows using system restore, etc.

Yep, System restore. (But you have to of made a backup for this to work)

Most likely the NIC cards have been disabled. To check whether windows can find the NIC cards Goto: 'Control panel'>> 'Add hardware' 'Add hardware wizard' opens, click next, and it will search for any new hardware (ie. the NIC Cards). Have you searched on google for people that may have had the same problem? This would be the first place I would look after Start>> 'help and support'. Is 'Network connections' shown in the control panel? In Windows XP: The 'network connections' in the control panel is called ncpa.cpl (the .cpl means it is a Control Panel extension, eg it is displayed in the control panel) Hope this helps:)
