If 10m is the length of the fence, the side of the square is only 2.5m. PI * 325 is ridiculously large. Or did you mean one side of the square is 10m?

    Cheers, Vıkram.

Well, if it's constrained to moving along the sides, then it doesn't create a closed container, it only follows the edges. So the area is 0. Marc

That sentence was only to let them get the string length, as when it moves along the sides and reach the other side at the midpoint, so the length is 20m.:)

Awww, I took it to mean the fence was 10m in length, and took one side to be 2.5m. Otherwise, I think I would have beaten Nish Bot and Andy. :(

Here is one "like" yours A man placed 4 stepping stones one foot square in a row, in a section of his garden so that there were equal spaces on all four sides of each of the stones. What possible dimension, the section can have ? Keep rolling and, talking about stepping stones - "Mistakes are stepping stones to success.” oops... was that a hint ?

That's why I hated math word problems in school. Because in my mind, "moving along the sides" means just that. It constrains to movement to the sides! Marc
