Of course it is, Colin. But, like pool and darts, we usually watch it in the pub, not on the tube. Mind you, I'd like to see darts on the TV, but it isn't likely to happen soon.:((

Using your definition it is a sport. The first thing a trainer instills in you is the ability not to get drunk, as in any form of event you will loose any competitive advantage. They made a one-off followup program called The Ballad of Big Al (or something along those lines) which is equally worth getting ahold of if you can. The BBC made a follow-up/spin-off series called Living with Dinosuars which covered the time between the last of the dinosaurs and the earlist humans - it is well worth adding this one to you list.
