i've got new task from my bos to evaluate new anti malware suite for our Uni to use for over 20,000 nodes. currently couple of suites get onto my table, forticlient and proventia desktop... yup, i need management software/appliance to control all those nodes... forticlient is cool :suss:, but currently it does not support NAC (network access control), and i found proventia makes hard life for the user. what you guys have? is there anything better?:~

At work we are required to use Norton or McAfee, if you don't have a preference, the default is required to be Norton. :) (in other words, if you don't prevent Norton, you get Norton, but your only other option is McAfee...) At home I have Avast!

IT uses "Trend Micro OfficeScan Client for Windows" here. So far been pretty good.

It would not affect me or my family one iota. My wife and I are in charge of when the tv is on, and what it displays. I do not need any external input for that.

I recomend F-Secure. It has Cisco NAC support, centralized management, intrusion prevention, firewall, etc. I'm totally satisfied with it. :)

{shudder} I can't stand Norton. It causes performance issues and it's caused some compatibility problems for family and friends of mine. At work we use eTrust and I've also got it on my home computer. I've never had a problem with it. http://www.ca.com/us/[^]

same here... but you don't get a choice. In fact on a public access machine, it has to be remotely managed Norton... ugh....

Grisoft's AVG Free Edition. With resident shield turned off. No need for anything fancy, as I keep most of my anti-virus prevention methods in my brain. ;)
