I just won 2 tix to go see Tool next Tues. My employer has box seats and raffles off tix for various events, and I figured I'd throw my name in the pool. I always wanted to see these guys, but just never wanted to fork out $60+ for the privilege. Has anyone here seen them on the 10,000 Days tour? Good show?

I bought my younger brother tickets to see them in San Antonio last year. They postponed the show twice (the band members kept getting sick) and finally performed last week at the AT&T center. He loved it.

Tool is pretty damn good. I never get to see them because when they play in ATL, the closest city around me that they play at regularly. The tickets sell out in like 45 seconds. Last time they came around I was 7th in line at the ticket booth, and they sold out by person 4. However, in a post above you refer to them as a hard rock band. They are utterly amazing, but hard rock they are not. Maynard probably has one of the best voices around in the rock genre, plus their music looks like calculus on paper. Have fun at the show, I envy you... Modified: I posted under the wrong comment... Damn lazy mouse... :-D

Hard rock was just the first thing that popped into my mind to convey the general idea. Maybe ambient prog metal without the excessive noodling. :~ Aren't you in Columbia or Charleston? I'll be seeing them Greenville on Tues.

Saw em last week, im 200% a metal head, i mean METAL. deftones are my favorite band, but definitely one of the softest i listen to. i took some good videos with my digital camera, surprisingly the picture is clear and the audio is pretty damn good too. im think about putting them up on youtube or my myspace page.

I saw them in Sydney about 10 years ago. Really really good show but if you're like me you'll need to take ear plugs or stay down the back a bit

I haven't seen their 10,000 days tour. They canceled their first Atlanta date, and I didn't bother going back and trying to fight for tickets the second time around (they are playing a very small venue in Atlanta, unfortunately, and you pretty much have to know someone to get tickets). I saw them in '96 on the Aenima tour, and it was without a doubt the single most awesome, incredible, badass show I've ever seen. Those guys know how to do a live show - you'll have a great time. But leave the box seats and go to the floor. There'll be douchebags close to the stage being pretty rough, but you can get nice and close in the crowd without getting too close to them.

Good show?

Never seen Tool (and I wasn't too keen on 10000 Days - I preferred Lateralus). I saw Isis[^] recently - they're a tight band. And not TOO loud, either. Good gig.
